And the Winner of the Perfect Attendance Contest is...

Congratulations to Hector Camacho, an Aviation student from Williams Field High School! He is the 2010-11 winner of the Perfect Attendance Contest. Out of 250 students, all of whom had perfect attendance, Hector had the winning key to the Chevy Truck donated by Thorobred Chevrolet of Chandler. Way to go Hector!!

The final countdown

About 350 EVIT students still have perfect attendance with just 7 weeks to go in the school year. That means they are still in the running to win a 1998 Chevrolet pickup truck. Or maybe a 2011 Chevy Cruze!

Perfect attendance students gathered today for their quarterly assembly, where there were the usual shenanigans.


Now, it's crunch time. How many will be left standing at the end of the year? Who will win the vehicles?

EVIT students with perfect attendance will have the chance to win this at the end of the school year:


Steve Marley, service manager at Thorobred Chevrolet, dropped off the truck and passed the keys over to EVIT Campus Director James Fisher on Monday.

Now, it's up to the EVIT automotive and collision repair students to look it over and give it a fresh coat of a paint and an updated look.

This school year is extra special for perfect attendance students because they'll have two chances to win a vehicle. EVIT seniors with perfect attendance will also be in the running to win a brand new Chevy Cruze as part of General Motors' Chevy Drive for Perfection Contest.

The drawing will take place May 23rd.

Test drive a new Chevy and EVIT gets a donation!

Thorobred Chevrolet is hoping to send lots of money to East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT). And, you can help! Anyone in the community is invited to test drive a new Chevrolet at Thorobred by November 22nd, and General Motors will contribute $25.00 to EVIT.

It's supposed to be a beautiful weekend, so head over to Thorobred Chevrolet located on Arizona Avenue, just South of Elliot Road. Test drive any new Chevrolet and receive a validation code. Go online, enter your code, and EVIT will receive a $25.00 donation. It couldn't be easier.

Half of EVIT students still have Perfect Attendance!

East Valley Institute of Technogy (EVIT) students filled the EVIT auditorium three times to celebrate completing another grade period with perfect attendance. Thanks to contributions from Thorobred Chevrolet, two cars are the incentives to be at school every day.

All EVIT students are in competition for a car that will be spruced up by EVIT's Automotive Technology and Collision Repair classes. But, this year EVIT seniors will have another chance to win a brand new Chevy Cruze as part of General Motors' Chevy Drive for Perfection contest.

Steve Marley, Service Manager of Thorobred Chevrolet, says that this is a chance for industry to promote a perfect attendance work ethic while students are still in training. The drawing will take place on May 23rd!
